Itochu Europe adds a Showroom and Expands Test Programming Service with move to New Premises
Itochu Europe, supplier of the Takaya flying probe test systems, have completed their move of the Tonbridge office to new premises on the 1st July. The move sees the company's Takaya flying test probe and software support unit remain in the county of Kent but takes them from Tonbridge to Staplehurst, south of Maidstone. Itochu's head office address in London remain unchanged along with bank details etc.

Syntech Technologies Combines Takaya Efficiency with Itochu Test Programming to Develop their Business Model
From their base on the English South Coast, Syntech Technologies offers a unique capability of electronic design, engineering and high volume manufacturing. From its long history in telecoms systems and equipment design, the company has developed its technology base and now has extensive experience and capabilities in manufacturing solutions for commercial and military applications in extreme conditions utilizing RF, high speed digital and analogue designs.

Test and Manufacturing Software designed to Support C.E.M's and O.E.M.'s in Electronics Manufacturing
Every C.E.M and electronics O.E.M will be aware of the many pitfalls along the way in the design, test and manufacturing process. Speed to market, reduction in manufacturing costs and improved product quality are a constant in day-to-day operations, especially so with new product introductions. By minimising the element of human involvement we aim to accelerate the process, reduce errors and provide detailed reports on quality and performance.

CEM Axiom combines UGS Techmatix Software and Takaya Flying Probe Test Equipment to Deliver Quality Excellence.
Axiom Manufacturing Services, the Newbridge (South Wales) based contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) company, is committed to delivering excellence across its entire operation.

Ian Brown (Mr “FABmaster”) joins Itochu
Itochu Europe plc has recently appointed Ian Brown to the London machinery division team inn a technical support role looking after Siemens (formerly UGS/Tecnomatix/FABmaster) OEM Automation Software and helping with the Takaya flying probe tester.

TAKAYA APT-9600CE – For Simultaneous Double-Sided Board Testing
The most-advanced Takaya in the APT-9000CE series, designed for small to medium-sized PCB’s, has a total of six flying probes (4 top & 2 bottom) that flexibly move over and under the boards at the same time.

Soft Landing with Itochu’s Rent to Buy Option
Recognising the fact that many companies, whether recently or well-established, view investment in new or different technology with some trepidation, Itochu UK is making available a “soft landing” alternative for their test and inspection equipment.

Rent-to-Buy Option from Itochu-Takaya helps avoid high initial outlay for one of the UK’s leading CEMs
Exception EMS, the UK-based contract manufacturer, is one of three elements within the Exception Group, which also includes Exception PCB (PCB manufacture), and Exception VAR (offshore sourcing of medium to high volume PCB’s).

Flying Probe System from Itochu helps Enhance Customer Service Levels for a Leading E M S company.
Launched last year at Nepcon, the Takaya APT 9411 system series continues to be a hit with EMS and CEM companies. One recent installation, for CTS Electronics Manufacturing Solutions (EMS) in Scotland (a global EMS provider and part of the CTS Corporation) demonstrates the APT-9411’s speed, accuracy and flexibility in product development scenarios.

Higher, faster & more accurate Takaya Flying Probe from Itochu
Itochu’s Takaya flying probe test range has been developed to an even higher level with the introduction of the new APT-9411A, providing an in-line option for the already proven APT-9411 launched earlier this year.

DDI choose Takaya
Takaya helps DDI deliver its time to market policy

EC Electronics selects Itochu’s test services to help develop groundbreaking in-flight medical facilities.
Itochu Europe, the supplier of Takaya flying probe test systems, has expanded its services to include board testing using its own equipment and staff for those companies yet to make such an investment. One such company to take up this offer is E C Electronics of Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Jaltek selects the Takaya APT9400 from Itochu for its ATE needs
Jaltek, a contract electronics manufacturer based in Luton, UK, is one of the latest companies to install the Takaya APT9400 flying probe tester, supplied by Itochu Europe.

New Web Site for Itochu Flying Probe Testers
Itochu in the UK launches a new website to provide an on-line catalogue for flying probe test products, April 2003.

Siemens Manufacturing selects Takaya Flying Probe Test system
Following an extended evaluation programme, award winning contract electronics manufacturer, Siemens Manufacturing Services, has selected the Takaya APT-9400 flying probe tester over a range of other systems that also underwent the same rigorous examination. Supplied by Itochu Europe, the APT-9400’s speed, ease of programming and repeatability met the exacting requirements of Siemens Manufacturing Services.

Takaya Flying Probe improves speed to market for ACW’s broadcast and aerospace products
ACW, headquartered at its new premises in Hedge End, Southampton, is one of the top contract manufacturers in the United Kingdom. Established in 1989, the company has enjoyed a high Compound Annual Growth Rate during the past 7 years to £27 million sales in the financial year ended September 2000. ACW continues to grow and is currently turning over an annualised £50m, and has substantial future growth expectations. This has been possible through substantial increases in capacity, notably by the addition of ACW Wales in 1998 as well as its takeover of Tandberg Television’s production facility in Southampton which has become its centre of operations. According to Phil Randall, “Itochu were prepared to go that extra mile to ensure that our requests were answered and our specific requirements met, furthermore, the advantage of the Takaya system over its competitors with its proven capability to interface with our existing CAD software. These two factors combined made the decision to select the Takaya from Itochu the obvious conclusion”.

Takaya flying probe test systems provide effective testing of even the most complex of boards
Specialising in high technology surface mount board assembly, STI concentrates on regular, small to medium batch quantity production and fast turn prototyping across Avionics, Military, Telecommunications and Computer applications. Given the demands of the complex requirements, it continues to be essential that the boards are tested at speed and effectively. The company’s recent £1.1million investment in its latest production line demonstrates both their commitment and success to date. The complexity of the boards to be assembled makes it equally important that set-up times are minimised too. Previous test procedures, although essential, proved to be expensive. However the installation of the first Takaya 8400 Flying Probe Tester in 1998 proved the efficacy of the fixtureless testing process, an installation that was soon followed by the purchase of a second APT8400.

Third Takaya Flying Probe for AMS minimises test costs
Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS) is a major European joint venture company owned equally by Finmeccanica and BAE SYSTEMS. It specialises in designing, manufacturing and supplying radars and mission critical command, control and management systems to defence forces and civil air traffic authorities throughout the world. “The final choice was based on the combination of Takaya Probe and Fabmaster CAD conversion software. This combination fitted our needs to quickly turn around post design boards that were not yet released for manufacture.”
