Ian Brown (Mr “FABmaster”) joins Itochu July 2007 | posted by D

Itochu Europe plc has recently
appointed Ian Brown to the London machinery division team inn a
technical support role looking after Siemens (formerly UGS/Tecnomatix/FABmaster)
OEM Automation Software and helping with the Takaya flying probe
tester.
Ian has 25 years experience within the Electronics and Test industry.
Originally Ian is from a test background and has worked for a few
well-known companies in the test and assembly arena. Ian worked for
FABmaster for many years and was very experienced with the software.
During this period, Ian was responsible for Sales and Support of the
software in the UK, building and looking after a successful market.
Ian said : “During my time with FABmaster and later after that
company’s acquisition by Tecnomatix, Itochu were a significant OEM
partner contributing to the growth of Software Automation sales in the
UK and Ireland. “
He continues, “I knew from supporting them as a partner that the
Takaya Flying Probe system is the leading tester of its type and I am
pleased to be joining the company and working not only with such a
machine, but also with the people that I came to know. Anyone who
knows me from my FABmaster/Tecnomatix days in particular, will I hope,
remember that good support of the customer was always my main
objective and from my previous knowledge this is why I was keen to
start working with Itochu Europe plc.”
“It is also pleasing to be working again with the Siemens software as
an OEM partner, although I guess it will take me a while not to keep
calling it FABmaster, and that the heart is the great product that I
came to love. With the improved user-friendly interface I was able to
find that, even after a break of 4 years and the considerable
enhancements and improvements it has seen, it felt like coming home.
To the customers that I will be supporting through Itochu, I guess the
message to them is ‘Mr. FABmaster’ is back !”
